Is my HDD broken?

I transported my pc 15 minutes in car and now it is very slow and some games doesn't work. Can my HDD be broken and can I fix it without buying a new?

Test it with a boot CD containing SeaTools for DOS or DFT for DOS:

DFT CD Image: http://www.hgst.com/support/downloads/legacy-downloads#DFT

Create either CD using IMGBurn: http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn

When you've made the CD, boot your PC from it.

How will that test my HDD? I'm not sure I understand

SeaTools is a diagnostic testing utility for hard drives of any make.
The CD you create from the SeaTools image file contains that testing utility.
Boot your PC from that CD and SeaTools for DOS will appear on the screen after a few minutes.

Select your hard drive in the SeaTools screen, then choose Short Test or Long/Extended test

SeaTools does not need Windows and if your hard drive is faulty SeaTools will tell you.
