Is my i7-6700k Overclock ok? First OC

This is my first overclock.

I overclocked my i7-6700k to 4.5 ghz and put my core voltage to 1.325.

I have CM Hyper 612 V2 air cooler and under a CPU-Z stress test the max temperature hit 81 Celsius and was fluctuating around 75 according to MSI Afterburner. When just browsing the web and idling it's around 55 C and max 61. Are these temperatures ok?

As I said, I'm new to OCing, just got my first build 2 weeks ago and am a bit scared that I'll fry my PC.

Edit: Also I just went into SpeedFan instead of MSI Afterburner and it said 30-40 C idling and just browsing the web, and it hit max 64 C under load, so quiet the difference.

Edit 2: Turned Voltage down to 1.275, and it still seems to be stable. Now in SpeedFan it was max 60 C when using CPU-Z's stress test, and is at around 25 C at 20% usage.

those temps are a bit high for my taste and so is the voltage .
try to lower the voltage a bit .
see if it will stay stable at 4.5GHz , if not lower the clocks a bit .
temperatures will go down and
you will not even notice any performance decrease if the chip will run 200 or 300 MHz lower .

Check the edits in my post. Is it ok now? Or should I turn it down even more?

60C or even a bit more under load is perfectly fine .
if the system is stable you can leave it as it is now .

Actually it wasn't stable at 1.275 until I turned down the core clock to 4.3GHz, but now it seems stable so far.

try 4,70ghz at 1,350 or 1,370 (go till 1,38 max)

mine working stable on 4,7 at 1,350

and download handbrake encoder and try to encode some videos to x265 codec or x264 codec. if it will crash your oc is not stable

It seems that haswell can tolerate vcore up to 1.4v.
How high you can go at a given vcore is determined by the quality of your particular chip.

Silicon lottery bins chips and sells the better ones for a price premium.

What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v Vcore.

How high you can go at a given vcore is determined by the quality of your particular chip.

Silicon lottery bins chips and sells the better ones for a price premium.

77 is a bit high for this load. What is your ambient temp ?
Try playing CS with open case (remove side panel) and see if it makes a difference.
GPU generates most of the heat in the system, and most people buy fancy cards with coolers that leave the hot air within the case. So if open case will lower the temperatures, you have to work on airflow.

If not, may be (and just may be), the CPU cooler was not applied correctly (bad mounting, bad thermal paste, too much thermal paste etc.)

But I have a mini-ITX which only has 1 sysfan connector :/ I'll definitely reapply paste and put the one fan I do have which is now between my disc drive cages and hard drive cages next to my CPU. Let's hope it helps!

you can connect fans to PSU. or U can user a slitter.
Re-applying the paste will not solve your heat issue.
If you are not sure, remove side panel of the case and play while the case is open. see what happens to the temps.
