Is my memory supported by my motherboard?

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if the memory that I purchased is compatible with my motherboard. The memory is the G.Skill Value Series 8GB and the motherboard is the ASRock Z97 Anniversary. I looked at the page for all compatible memory and it doesn't show up, but the specifications listed for both the motherboard and the memory seem to indicate that they are compatible.

Hello,

Is the RAM not installed in your PC? The QVL tells you what RAM was tested with that motherboard, it does not mean it will not work, any DDR3 RAM will work with any DDR3 supported motherboards

All that means is that ASRock didn't test those particular stiicks. Look at a list of ALL available memory. Think it's possible for a mobo manufacturer to test them all? No chance. Your sticks are DDR3 1600 and +1.5 volt. They may not be on ASRock's compatibility list, but they will work just fine.

Well I've recently just finished the build, and guess what? The memory didn't work. Neither of the modules, in any slot in any configuration. I bought 2 sticks off of my friend since he had 32GB even though he didn't need it and that's what I'm using right now. So I'm not sure what that means, I just felt like making note of it here.

How is it all good? Since you posted the sticks didn't work my curiosity has been piqued and I went to the GSkill site as well where it said that basically there is one 1866 stick and the rest high MHz sticks that were compatible with that board.

Um... I've been responding using the build I originally asked about. It's my main PC now.
