Hello to everyone reading, ive been experiencing a problem with my internet connection lately. Here is what i got and what is happening.

Main router (from the isp) is okay, speed is stable and fine (~25), wifi also is okay.
2 cables from this router go to:
A Xiaomi R4A gigabit edition modem (the one im extending an ethernet 10 meter cable from to my pc) and a wireless adapter (amplifier or what) that sends a signal like 30 m away.

Last 2 weeks i am experiencing dead periods in my internet. Tried to troubleshoot, tried to unplug for 2+ mins the xiaomi and restart it but nothing solved it. Every single time after an hour or so trying and restarting, a "good" 20 sec/hold restart of the modem, reconfigure it (just need to ask it to get the IP address automatically from the isp router, nothing special, just a half min setup) seems to fix the issue. Internet is stable again. Last 2 days though, nothing helps it. No matter what i do, any restarts or so its still broken.

The WiFi from Xiaomi R4a is fine, wireless adapter is fine, the isp router ethernet + wifi are completely fine. The only problem that seems to appear is between the Xiaomi and my pc. Could it be the modem is dying? Could it be my 10++ meter ethernet cable is somehow dying? I can't seem to figure out how to fix this. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance!
Here are 2 screenshots (taken within 1 min from each other) from taskm:

I've had ethernet controllers and cable modems die. This is typically how they start dying. Internet connectivity drops out for a few seconds or minutes, then come back online. The occurrences become more and more frequent until it fully dies.

Could it be only the ethernet part of the Xiaomi is dying? Because the wifi is perfectly fine, only the ethernet to my pc seems to fail. Do cables "fail"? Im asking so i can figure out if i can exclude some options and how to proceed! Thanks for your reply !

If a ethenet cable fails you generally get a warning on the bottom of your screen showing the ethernet port went down. You could look in the event viewer and see, a ethernet port down will cause a message.

Other outages could be related to the port staying up but no data being passed. A ethernet cable is nothing fancy it is purely electrical signals it has no concept of data or ip addresses or anything else. It is very much a physical layer device so if it does not actually go to a down condition it is not likely a cable.

Then again a ethernet cable is very cheap compared to other things so it would not hurt to try another cable. You can also try other ports on the router just to be sure that is also not the problem. I doubt it will fix it but maybe you get lucky.

I maybe misunderstanding but you connect a ethernet to the router from your pc and that has issues. You have a second ethernet running to some kind of wifi AP. When you say the wifi works is the wifi signal going to the router directly or is the wifi signal connecting to this other box and then goes from that box to the router via ethernet. If the wifi is going via this other box then it is more likely your pc than the router. If you have another ethernet device you can connect to the router that would confirm it.

In any case most this stuff is hardware related. In some ways it would be better if it was the pc port that was bad since that is a fairly inexpensive PCIE board you can get. If it is the router then it would need to be replaced, and if the ISP owns it they should do it for free.
