Is my monitor Dead???

I have a 17" LCD monitor(not led backlit), which started blinking to a dull white color suddenly and it turned completely to a dull white color after a while. It stays like that even during the splash screen. Its been 7 years since I bought the monitor. I use it generally for around 40-50 hours a month(sometimes more than that). Is my monitor dead??

7 years old. Time to throw it out. Just upgrade to a new wider monitor. You won't regret it.

BAM! It started working again...I should wait and see if it comes back! Anyhow, I prefer changing my monitor. Hoping for replies...
