Hello every body.
Today i tried to turn on my laptop asus k501ux. It has not been start for about a week. And it battery was completely empty. So i plugged the charger. Charging light turned on but it shows green light which means battery is full charged. So i pushed start button but laptop didn't turn on.
I opened back cover and removed the battery and keep pushing start button
For a minute. And tried to turn it on without the battery but it didn't help.
I noticed a wired problem WHEN I PLUG THE CHARGER SOME PART OF THE MOTHERBOARD GET VERY HOT AND IT IS HARD TO TOUCH IT.
If i push the start button the other some parts get hot too.
Anything i can do??
Need for help to know if i can use it anymore or not?
Thanks.

What and how are you (or have you been) charging the laptop?

Does the following link provide the User Manual applicable to your laptop?

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/K501UB/0409_E10823_K401UB_K501UB_UX_A.pdf

Note the battery information etc. presented in physically numbered Pages 26 and 27.

This:

"WHEN I PLUG THE CHARGER SOME PART OF THE MOTHERBOARD GET VERY HOT AND IT IS HARD TO TOUCH IT. "

Are you able to identify that part?

Is it possible for you to take a couple of photographs of laptop/motherboard and that specific part? If so, do so and post here using imgur (www.imgur.com)

As an option go online and find a video about upgrading, maintaining, or even repairing your Asus K501ux laptop.

For example:

Freeze the video at some point where the part is being shown or possibly being directly identified.

Take a screenshot and like wise post here via imgur.

In your first image with the circled component: Are there some sort clips there? Or maybe a thermal pad?

Something seems to be sticking out at the sides.

And I cannot make out the markings on the chip which might help to identify the chip.

As for the copper bar its' purpose is to conduct away heat and I would expect it to be warm or hot to some extent.

How warm or how hot? I will have to defer to others who have and/or worked with the laptop.

But my general rule is that if it is too hot to touch then that is "too hot".
