Yes, an AM3+ motherboard isn't going to have any issue with a 1050.

The ASUS M5A97 came out 10 years ago. So no, the 2200G is not compatible, they use completely different CPU sockets.

You would need an AMD 300/400/500 series motherboard to use a 2200G. You would also need new ram for one of those motherboards as they use DDR4 instead of DDR3 on the M5A97.

B350 and B450 motherboards are reasonably cheap now if you need one.
