Hi

My PSU failed yesterday (6 year old Corsair CX500)
Replaced with a higher tier CX550M today

Initially when I turned the machine back on I got disk errors, and noticed that the keyboard wasnt working. It appeared that the SATA ports and USB were dead. I then tried the front USB ports and got into UEFI, where I coudl see all the components were live, so I tried to plug the drives in, and reset to defaults.

Rebooted the machine and its running fine, even restored itself from hibernation, although it did decide that my Wifi card is a new device and reinstalled it - not sure why it did that

I was quite happy with that, thought I could just replace the mobo (although they are more expensive now than when I got it...) but I thought I'd check the rear USB ports - they work again

Is the system ok? any way to check? I wonder if the machine got in some strange power state trying to resume from standby and that caused the USB and SATA to get powered down, or if I am just lucky atm and the board will fail shortly

System spec is:
i7 4770
4x 4GB RAM
1x SSD
4x HDD
GTX 970 OC
