Hello' Basically I have had and been using 4 4gb memory sticks now all of a sudden im having problems. I have 2 4gb little memory sticks and 2 4gb big memory sticks I think they're all ddr3

My problem is one of the blue ram slots doesn't even work like if i have a memory stick in it my pc doesn't show on screen but if i remove it from that slot it works. Another problem I have is if i don't put a memory stick in the broken slot but i put 3 memory sticks in the other 3 slots my pc only reads one memory slot. I have tried using different combinations of putting them in and different order but no luck.

Also i have this other problem about once a day my pc just reboots itself. I'm thinking the motherboard might be broken but i need to be sure.

Solution
I used to have the same issue with an older DDR3 rig of mine with an i5 760. What happened was, my MOBO slot was not working. Why? Most likely because of my old CPU, that was constantly overheating (85°+) when gaming.

I had just replaced my stock cooler with an Evo H212, but it was apparently too heavy for my poor quality/old cheap MOBO.

Apparently the cooler had bent some pins on the CPU socket or the CPU itself and the PC was working, but all 3/4 of my RAM slots were not detecting any ram. Just 1 slot, where i was forced to upgrade my 2x4 to a 1x8 temporarily, until i completely upgraded to an i5 6600k + z170x + 16gb DDR4.
