[SOLVED] Is my optical output defective or do I need to do something ? ( Solved)

I have an MSI Z270 gaming pro carbon motherboard that I’ve had for two years. However today I bought a Headset that requires a optical connection and noticed that my optical port has a blockage or something ? I’m not sure but just asking for confirmation and advice on what to do next.

Edit: Managed to remove blockage so optical is now usable.

THAT is interesting...
Some questions...
1.) When you ''bought it two years ago'' , did you buy the motherboard NEW?
2.) Did you buy components and build the computer?
3.) Was it a completely assembled system?

It looks like there was either a cover over the optical port (either hinge type or slide type) that someone broke, or someone taped over it with electrical tape.

The ONLY thing I can suggest, is to take the motherboard out of the case and inspect the port without the case shield covering it, or if you can, remove the case shield from inside the computer (if there is enough space...but DON'T FORCE IT!)

IF it still looks like there is a problem, post another picture of the port without the...
