Is my power supply defect?

Okay soo, when I'm going the paper clip test, my power supply is working, but when I try to turn on the computer, nothing happens. All the cables is in the right spots but litterily nothing happens. I have tried it with 2 motherboards but the first one was dead and now I just bought a MSI Gaming Krait 3x z170 but nothing happens. I asked 2 friends who is pretty good with computers and they are saying that the power supply is defect because it's surly not giving enough watts or volts to the components. What do you think? The psu I'm using is a evga g2 750w 80+ gold.

That PSU if working properly is more than enough power , very high quality PSU

No power at all. No fans spinning or anything. Recently there was a lightning strike near my house, and since then, it's making a wired noise. I don't think it works properly

I know its a very high-end PSU, but its not the first time a gold 80+ have failed for me after a short time...
