Hi guys, so recently I upgraded my GPU from a Nvidia 1660 Super to a Nvidia 3060 ti to pair with my Ryzen 5 5600x CPU. I've noticed that the CPU usage is around 100% and the GPU is around 20% utilisation maximum when I am playing games. I am kind of confused because I did a lot of research before upgrading my GPU to see if there would be much bottleneck, but I never saw anyone else mention having any problems with bottleneck with the CPU and GPU combo. I am now wondering whether there could be a problem with my PSU instead, considering it is only a 500w PSU that originally came with the pc. Do you think I need to get a PSU that can supply more power or is the CPU and GPU combo not great?

100% CPU utilization means the game you're running is keeping the CPU very busy, and it may not have time to tell the GPU what to do.

However, 100% on a 5600X while playing a game to me is suspect because most games don't tax the 5600X that hard.

What game are you playing?

I expect that the new GPU can do a LOT more on its own than the old one could. But that depends on whether the DRIVER for the new GPU was installed and configured to make best use of it. (That also means you should have removed the driver for the old card first.) Did you do that? Maybe your CPU is doing a lot more work because it is not requesting the new GPU to take on the load.

this actually helped quite a bit, i used DDU to install a clean driver and it worked very nice! In addition to me making the in game graphics settings higher the GPU usage is now around 30% and CPU is around 60%
