hello guyz!
first time posting here! recently iam in the market to buy a new graphic card that is ASUS gtx 760 .
as stated it requires 500w , and my psu is coolermaster thunder 500w so i wnated to make sure
that can my psu can power 760? i choose asus gtx 760 because it rquires single 8 pin which is there in my psu.

my current pc specs is :

processor- i5 2500k

mobo- asrock b75

gpu- 9800gt

ram - 4gb

hardisk - 500gb

psu- coolermaster thunder 500w

resolution - 1440x900

i bought my psu 11 months back so its not that old, and i will be using my pc for till april only so that's why not looking to buy a new psu if possible.

Solution
At 1440x900 the 760 will have little to no problems playing games at ultra, you could definitely consider spending more towards a PSU for a 280x though, it's essentially a 7970 GHz edition and is much more powerful than the 760, but at 1440x900 it would be a little overkill in my opinion

The AMD equivalent of the 760 would be the 7950, so go with whichever one is cheaper

You can also consider adding 4GB more DDR3 ram into your system for a total of 8GB, that's the optimal amount for gaming nowadays

Yes its enough, even a overclocked 680 with 100 % load on a CPU and GPU takes about 360 W , many believe they need 1000 W PSU's , but that is just a waste of energy, 500 W is fine

It might work but the 280x consumes a fair bit more power than the 760 so I probably would recommend a better PSU for a 280x

I wouldn't trust that CM PSU with running a 280x tbh

ok friends now i will buy gtx 760 i just want to make sure is asus a good brand ?
and is 500w really enough because that's the only reason i am going with 760 and i don;t want to see blue screen and crashes etc.
so please tell me is this psu enough for gtx 760 ? because if i need to change my psu i will definitely go with 280x .
