So I built my gamely PC less than two years ago. I'm a family heavy gamer and also live in a tropical climate in Mexico where ita hot humid and not ideal for the life of a PC.
So a few months ago now I noticed the fans on my gigabyte GTX970 G1 graphics card was louder than usual. Not just while gaming but also while idle. It has been a hot summer but monitoring the systems temperatures I was constantly running at safe levels. Unable to determine now if it was the GPU fan or perhaps one of the other fans on the case or even the PSU.
Last week when I tried to power up, I would simply get a black screen saying something like "Please connect PCI power cables to your Graphics card" and after a few attempts with the same result I then switched out he graphics card for my old one. Computer loaded fine considering the graphics card had been sitting in a drawer. The next day PC wouldn't turn on again.
Nothing, no lights fans, nothing. Maybe 15 minutes later. PC was just on. I didn't press the power button it was just on? Weird. I swapped back to my graphics card I was using before and it was fine. Other than what sounds like surges to the fans on the GPU I had been experiencing the weeks before it was all working fine. So I start thinking maybe it's the PSU...
The next day. Won't turn on. A few failed attempts turning back on, I stepped out of the house and came back to the PC turned on again. Weird.
Today I come home and nothing. Maybe it will decide to turn on later and work fine. I'd like to diagnose and resolve this issue. I feel like because it's either all or nothing right now, that it's not the GPU failing but perhaps the power source unit.
Not sure what to do next. Go ahead and buy a new PSU online and hope that's the Solution? Thought it best to get settled advice first
Thanks in advance
