Is my PSU Faulty?

Hi, I've just recently collected some parts for a new computer for everyday computing, but once i plugged everything in and tried to turn it on, it runs for about half a second, then stops.

How can I identify the problem? I'm assuming it's a problem with the PSU, can anyone tell me if it's otherwise?

replacing suspect PSU with a known good PSU is a quick test

if that fails to find fault
