2 days ago i started my computer and it took a really long time to boot up, then the next day it was ok, and today again it took really long about 5-8mins, is there a way to test my ssd? All it has on it right now is just windows so its about 70% empty.

1tb hdd
128gb samsung 840pro
win 7

download HD tune, they have a free version, and run it on your ssd. Im almost sure that your mobo doesnt have sata 3, so you are not using the full potential of your ssd, but you are limited to the 300 mb/s of the sata 2 connection. but even with that, you shouldnt take that long to boot.

Hello... 1) Was the OS installed with BIO's setting IDE or ACHI?
2) What is the setting now?
3) Are there any red or yellow "marks" in your device manager?
4) How long has this OS install booted fast before the slow down?
5) What was the last software/app installed before this slow down.

1. I tried going into bios to see but the bios was extremely laggy i could barley navigate it for some reason. I had the ssd for 2 years now on whatever settings its on i cant remember.

2. not sure how too look it up without going into bios.
3. no
4. almost 2 years.
5. xbox controller software and darksiders 2, already removed them.

Once windows is all booted up those it works like it should, im worried tho that my bios is lagging so bad. Also it asked me what to boot from once I exit the bios, never see it do that before.

I just installed samsung magician and its saying ahci is disabled and i did a firmware update and it didnt help, but with my biios so laggy i dont thing its my ssd anymore.

If the BIOS was laggy then the SSD isnt causing the slow down. The BIOS does not need to access the SSD (other than for information such as name and size).

Also SATA 2 is still fast. There isn't a major difference in real world performance between SATA 2 and SATA 3.

is there anything you can suggest to rectify the problem or is it game over for my mobo?

You could try going into bios and loading defaults. You could also update the bios revision from the motherboard manufacturer.

Try the first one first though.
Make sure you get the right BIOS for your motherboard as it can break the whole motherboard if you get the wrong one that isn't compatible.

If they do not work, then I do not know what to do. I am definitely not an expert on motherboards so you should seek further help from someone who knows more about motherboards if these do not work.
