i have a samsung evo 860 250gb ssd on my laptop and its installed to the place the disks are supposed to be inserted to, i meant the dvd drive. I benchmarked it using samsung magician and it returned the following results:

Yes.

That RAPID uses part of your RAM as a cache for the drive.
That benchmark number is mostly reading your RAM speed, not the drive.

And connecting the drive via the DVD port isn't going to damage it.
It might be slower than it should be, depending on the properties of that DVD interface.

here is the results without rapid on, thanks for letting me know. btw i read rapid mode doesnt actually have that much of effect on performance, is that true?

The read speed is fine, the write a a little bit slow. But that may be simply due to the DVD interface.
Thanks. How long do you think my ssd would last? I've been using it for almost a year and so far I've written 5.23TB of data and Evo 860 250gb seems to have tbw of like 150 so I'm far away from the end of this ssds life I think.

The TBW number is just for the warranty. Just like the number of years.

It will likely last a long time.
My eldest SSD is currently an 840 EVO, Nov 2014. Running mostly 24/7 since then.
