Well, my monitor will flash with 4 wide colored bars (from top to bottom: Red, Blue, Green, White, I think...) for about 5-10 seconds before it goes through the Welcome Screen in Windows XP Pro to the main screen. This has only happened a couple of times. I have done ATi Tool artifact scanning for over 20 min. with no errors; is it possible that it's defective though?

I'm going out on a limb here - but I figure you have Catalyst Control Center along with .Net?

If so, then the blinking of Windows is a result of this. Try and get Omega Drivers as they still use the old interface and will slightly blink the screen when you open Catalyst Control Panel to adjust your settings (AA/AF).

Also, I haven't heard of the RGB colours showing with such blinking, but it depends on the monitor I guess.

Yup, I have the Catalyst Control Center and .Net. I guess I will try to uninstall all related ATi Drivers and then install the Omega drivers. Maybe it is my monitor, because one time I turned it on a few seconds after my PC, and the visual image got screwed up (the Startup/Load Screen was like 800x600 and only half of the screen was visible). I turned off the monitor and quickly turned it back on and it was fixed....weird... Thanks for the info as I will install Omega now.

Hmmmm.....maybe its too cold in my house???? I do not recall seeing a "Loading Windows" Screen; I only saw these colors each for a second for about 3 or 4 times: RGB, black, and then gray.... until startup screen...

I noticed that you have an overclocked CPU - and from experience I know that the loading screen in Windows are the central point of problems and maybe in your case, lack of problems. I figure the OC'd CPU contributes to the loading screen not showing... Or maybe you tweaked your Windows interface with different loading screen?

Well, I am just about to dowload the driver for my monitor from MS Update. I will post whether or not it has fixed the issue.... (I would have done this earlier, except I needed to see if my PC was stable; I didn't want to register too many times b4 MS made my key invalid..) I suspect its the driver issue cuz I can play games with no problem for hours on end.

(Oh, I've noticed that with the Omega drivers that this occurs EVERY time I turn on my PC; with CCT, it only occured every other time or so.)

Well, although the initial install of the L90D+ driver didn't work, I just downloaded a couple of other "critical updates" and it booted up correctly for once. Hopefully the issue won't come back but I will post if it does. Thanks for the replies.
