hey guys..

i got myself a big ass Swiftech MCX462 paired with Thermaltake 37CFM Fan...

i expected ice cold temps.. but my idle is 46 and full load is 50'ish..
seeing other posts im seeing sub-40 full load temps on similiar air cooling..its pissing me off..

this is an elite HS..!!! im gettin stock performance..wtf..

anyways do these temps look normal?
im thinking..
it might be my sensor..
or maybe i put too much artic siver on...
or is my fan (37 cfm) too weak?

anyways.. post your thoughts/comments/recommendations...

thanks in advance!!!

Did you clean the old Heatsink compound off the processor before putting the fan on ??? Do you have Heatsinck compound on the CPU at all ???? Are you using a premium Heatsink compound like artic silver ???

well i upgraded from a volcano 6cu+

all i did was basically switch heatsinks...(using the old thermal paste already on the cpu)...

i added a lil more artic silver 2 ..btw(it was previously AS2)...

Thats your problem, too much paste.

Remove the hsf, and clean the proc and hsf thoroughly, then use a razor thin amount on the core.

im gonna have to remove my mother board... wut a pain in the ass...= (

anyways.. thanks... i had a feeling that was the problem...
hopefully it is... and i can finally start my overclocking journey...!
