Question Is 'oc' in msi ventus box just a marketing trick?

The performance will depend on how much the GPU has been factory overclocked. In most cases the difference isn't huge when compared to any reference/FE card clock speeds.

It's not a marketing trick per se, but just a means of selling a slightly overclocked GPU out of the box, to minimze any manual overclocking done by the user.

Very informative thank you

A lot of board partners these days give a lot of marketing emphasis on overclocked GPUs.

I assume OC cards have same warranty as regular non-OC models?

Im wondering if it performs better than a founders edition 4060ti, does the 'oc' in the box mean that it's already overclocked by msi, and how much more fps would i get if this is not just a marketing trick.

MSI RTX 4060 Ti VENTUS 2X BLACK OC
Board power limit: 160w
2310 MHz2565 MHz2250 MHz

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition
Board power limit: 175w
2310 MHz2535 MHz2250 MHz

30mhz more ADVERTISED boost clock, which doesn't matter, due to how the dynamic boost works, they'll both clock way higher than that anyway. One could manually input that 30mhz on the FE.

Fortunately, others have also submitted vbios(Gpu-Z) for those 2 cards - 15w difference in board power limits.
Though 15w isn't much at all, it still means the FE could boost for slightly longer, and there's some room to tinker with, if desired.

The FE cooler design works better, airflow-wise, with more cases. It exhausts out the rear and the top.
The Ventus exhausts towards the rear and the FRONT, which doesn't flow well with front case intakes.

Thank you veey informative especialy when u explained airflow difrence between cards
