Is overclocking a monitor safe?

I have a 60Hz 1080p LG monitor that supports 75Hz at lower resolutions. Would it be able to handle 75Hz at 1080p? Is there any risk involved in overclocking a monitor?

There is always risk, and whether or not it can handle 75Hz at 1080p depends on the monitor. You can try to overclock it though, in all likelihood you'll hit at least 70Hz.
