Alright, so I have been using this ASUS FX553VD for about 4 months or so now. Here are the specifications of the laptop:

CPU: Intel Core i5-7300HQ
GPU: GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5
RAM: 8GB 2400mhz (single channel)
HDD: 1TB 7200RPM
Monitor: 1920x1080 LED Panel (I'm not sure which panel it has)

Alright, back to the story. My main goal in overclocking the GTX 1050 is to improve probably 15-20% FPS in most games I play. I play GTA V, World of Tanks, Batman Arkham Night, Metro Last light Redux, Rainbow SIx Seige and Dirt Rally the most. I'm finding it quite hard to run GTA V on Ultra High Settings, with the FXAA turned on, but MSAA and NVIDIA TXAA off. I can achieve an average of around 45fps. My temperature when it's not overclocked is around 72-75 degrees celcius. But when I overclock the GPU, it jumps up to 75-80 degrees. My room temp is around 20-25 degrees celcius at most. *It's winter here in Vietnam. But will overclocking my GTX 1050 this much would damage it?

GPU Clock Offset: +175MHz
Memory Clock Offset: +575MHz

I'm using EVGA Precision XOC.

Solution
well for the CPU you cant overclock it on the Laptop and as for the GPU i am not sure as you can overclock but still i recommend you to dont do the overclocking on the laptop because of the heat issues that 75-80 you are seeing are high tempratures result in heating other components of your laptop too

I have read from many sources that those temperatures for laptops are actually fine. They say that laptops are designed to withstand the high temperature from the CPU and GPU.
