Is overvolting a Gigabyte GTX 960 safe?

So, I have a Gigabyte windforce GTX 960 and I've already got it overclocked (it boosts to 1470Mhz and the memory runs at 7.9 Ghz) That's without overvolting though. I've never seen the temps go over 71 degrees celsius with the fans spinning at 58%.

So my question is if I added, let's say 20Mv, would I still be able to RMA the card, if it didn't have any physical damage. Do manufacturers have a way of knowing if you overvolted/overclocked the card?

That's he rub. How do they log the voltages? As far as I know the graphics cards do not have any non-volatile memory to log the voltages you used. This does not mean they do not however. This is a chance you will have to take.

As for char marks, these only happen with high amounts of current causing the board to overheat and discolor. If the VRMs fail this can happen...

I think you are going to have to submit your questions to MSI or if there is an MSI representative on the forum they will reply. You might want to move this thread to the Graphics Card thread.
The answer is always no BUT most devices these days have warranties that actually cover overclocking so even if you damaged your card, it is most likely covered.

Most of these warrantees are void though, if you FLASH the BIOS to an unapproved BIOS that will take the limiters off of your voltages. So as long as you don't do this you should be ok.

I tried to see if they had the warranty card that was downloadable but I could not find it. You might have to either find the one that came with your card or contact Gigabyte to see if they will email you the detail.s

It says the warranty will be void if the damage is caused by high voltages. It doesn't say anything else about overclocking. So I assume I'm safe as long as the card doesn't have any burn marks on it. Does overvolting modifiy the BIOS, or does it only get saved to the software you're using (MSI afterburner in my case).
