ah so the guy must have meant very old houses, can you link me to your adapter?

that is fine all i want is stable connection
Could you help me find a 500megabit, one with gbe ports under 40$ preferably
What eathernet cables do i need? should i get one specifically for gigabit? ive never done Ethernet before so im pretty clueless

im a floor below and about 40 feet from my router. parents wont let me drill holes.
this is what i will need right? : 500+mbps with a gbe port

alright tp link it is! stable network (hopefully) here i come!

quick question, the powerline adpater i ordered has a gigabit port, but what cables do i need for gigabit ports.

Cat 5e will be fine.

cat6 is a scam to get money out of people pockets. :) Actually it was developed many years ago when gig ports were just being developed. It was developed to run like older 10/100 connection on just 2 pairs of wires. The industry went with a solution that used 4 pairs of wires and since companies did not have to replace their cable cat6 was pretty much a dead product from that point.

Cat6 can be used to run 10g at shorter distances but anyone who can afford equipment with 10g ports will opt for cat6a cable which can run 10g to the 100 meter limit. If you really need 10g there is not a lot of price difference between cat6 and cat6a.

You will be fine with 2 cat5e cables. Now for marketing reasons you can sometime get cat6 cheaper than cat5e. It won't run any better but if it saves money that is good enough reason.

alright, so 5e will do but if i have money to throw out i go for cat 6. ill just ordered 2 cat5e cables. cheers!

alright, itll be a while before i can be freed of wireless, i dont have a job so i have to gradually save up from allowance but when i finally get my adapters ill be sure to update you
