Recently I bought an External Digital Sound Card 7.1 and the back of the box says it supports Windows Vista/7/8.

It came works fine and the sound quality is great so I'm assuming that it's fine. It came with a driver DVD which had a folder named "Win10" so maybe they actually updated it and didn't change the box?

When I double clicked on "setup" it started installing Xear audio center but when it downloaded it said "No device detected" despite the sound card working fine. So I uninstalled the Xear driver thing and restarted my PC. So far it works fine.

So, should I do anything else or is this pretty much it?

Speakers my not be a suitable match for the external audio card's output.

Sorry, let me elaborate. I'm using headphones that are plugged into the Sound Card and my Windows 10 volume in on 6/100. When I would plug them into my PC case headphone port, the volume stays normal at 40/100.

Not an issue, and I'll get used to it.
