is shipping tracking number a privacy??

I would like to know
in most cases, is the tracking number for shipping (internationally) a privacy?

What I mean is, if someone gets my tracking number ONLY, would he be able to find out the
name or other information of sender and recipient?

That depends on the integrity of the shipping company.
Obviously, they know where it came from, and where it is going.

I just looked up a UPS tracking number for an item I got yesterday from Amazon.
With only the tracking num, all UPS shows me is the destination city and time it was delivered. Not the name or specific address where it went.
