Is something wrong? Different 3dmark06 scores...

TOMSHARDWARE Single HD4850

HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6215
SM2.0 Score: 5253

Apparently, my CROSSFIRE is worse than a Single 4850, and Tomshardware's Crossfire is more than 2x the score.

My setup:

TWO Crossfire HD4850's, linked together, (it worked when I installed them.)
Asus P5W DH Deluxe (In crossfire it's only 8x/8x, but that isn't why.)
4GB Ram
E6600 Core2Duo OC'd to 3Ghz
Creative X-Fi Platinum Sound Card
Thermaltake Toughpower 750w PS

I've checked before, and ATI Control Panel seems to be setup correctly, and is said to be detecting the cards in Crossfire. But obviously something is wrong...

HELP! I don't even know where to begin.

What CPU were Tom's using?

Don't worry, the difference is 'cause maybe tom's hardware use RAM DDR3, and i7 OC or a core2quad....remember that the performance of the GPU depends of all system

Toms was using a highly overclocked quadcore which gives you the best 3dmark score by far, which is one the reasons a 3dmark score has nothing to do with your actual in game performance. Your motherboard is also limiting your 4850s a bit with the X8/X8 bandwidth. All that said you need to try some serious overclocking because my cousin has a system with an E6750 @ 3.6 Ghz and 2 8800 GTS 512s that score 16000 in 3dmark06.

Run some actual game benchmarks (ie Crysis,etc)

I understand why the overall score is significantly different based on CPU.

But that does NOT explain the SM2.0 and 3.0 scores which are based on GPU, right?

Also from what I've seen, the x8/x8 doesn't make much of a difference.

It also wouldn't explain the fact a single 8800 GT can beat my 4850 Crossfires in gaming. My friend has a 8800 GT.
