Is the 3ds worth it?

I haven't gotten myself anything good for Christmas in a while, and I have a 50 gift card for amazon, which means the console will cost about $120 out of my pocket. Should I wait for them to make the next version of 3ds? Does it suck? Is it worth it?

I have a DSlite and I've been very pleased with it while I was using it (got bored of it about a year ago)

It's still a great buy probably considering the portability of that little thing, but I'd strongly compare it to a PSP in terms of 3D graphics performance.

truth be told I think DS should have stuck to 2D graphics until they bumped the hardware to significantly higher level. In todays day and age having PSX 3d level graphics is just, well sad. I've seen enough of FF7 triangles back in the day, I don't know why they choose to keep doing it while producing modern titles. (meh, I'm probably rambling now, but that's just IMHO)

Well we are talking about the 3ds, I have a ds lite, I don't care about graphics that much

if you don't care about graphics why are you getting 3ds which is more expensive than a non 3d version?

It is a good travelling companion. I will be very much useful when you are travelling for a long time trips.

depends how much you're spending on it, i got one for 100 bucks at a closing down sale

but if there is a game you like, then you should get it, my friends bought a 3DS just to play zelda, lol
