Is the AMD A6-6400K CPU good for gaming with a Radeon RX460 or should i get a GTX 950 or 960 (This is a pre-built system on Cyberpower PC)

The A6-6400k Is a terrible cpu in general. I would either build your own or find another pre build pc

Agreed, the purpose of the APU style CPU's is to use without a dedicated GPU. You are already looking for a dedicated GPU so you would be much better off with something else. I'd suggest at bare minimum an i3 Skylake.

The a6 is one of the slowest CPUs on the market right now, it will severely bottleneck a RX 460. Just to put that in perspective, it's slower than a Haswell Celeron!

The absolute bare minimum is a Skylake Pentium or Core i3.

how about a A8-7600 APU with a 950 or 960

As stated previously, avoid AMD's current options. The Skylake i3 will blow that CPU away.

Is there ANY other way you can get a Intel CPU instead of an AMD CPU?

If not, go with the A8. It's a newer quad core, faster than the FX-4300, 4350.

The FX-4300 was a slow, poorly-regarded CPU when it was released in 2012. It's almost criminal that Cyberpower PC is still selling PCs with that chip, when there are new CPUs that perform better and cost the same.

That seems a fair price, and both CPU and GPU are good choices for modern games.

The i3 might a little, but you can always upgrade to a core i5 in the future.

I know you've already got your answer, but for the sake of a little more peace of mind, another thumbs up here for the i3 with the 1060, I have a sibling running a similar set up and it's a fantastic budget option!

what games do he/she play and what fps does he get

It'll depend on the graphical settings and, if it's a multiplayer game, how many other players there are. The CPU is capable of 60+ fps in most games, and the GPU is capable of keeping this framerates at high-ish settings in the most demanding games, and max settings in less demanding games.

I haven't really tried anything taxing on it yet, and his graphics card isn't on par with the 1060, but we were playing some CSGO last night, which is more of a processor heavy game, and he was getting 200-350 fps on high settings. He also plays a lot of Rocket League, which he runs very smoothly, and he gets over 100fps in Just Cause 2. Like Ecky said though, your fps is gonna depend on a lot of different factors, but there shouldn't be anything your build can't run smoothly, even if you have to slightly lower some settings.
