Is the ATX PCIe power connector needed?

I'm looking at getting a new motherboard MSI B360 Gaming Plus and it has a power connector for PCIe which requires a 6pin connector but the only other 6pin I got is attached to the same one as used for my graphics card and will not reach. Is the power connector actually needed or not?

yes it is needed , simply buy an extender cable and boogey on. It probably requires it for the bling extra rgb all over the place.

Yea. RGB is super important to gaming performance thus the higher power draw of RGB Gaming cards.

choose one that doesn't need it.

RX 550 Doesn't need it. 750ti doesn't need it. GT 1030 doesn't need it.

Choose a mobo that doesn't need one, which is probably 95+%of them.
