Firstly thanks to anyone who can help with this. The main issue is if the PSU is compatible due to it using Corsair's type 3 connector.

This is the warning from pc build checks: ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition requires a 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector adapter to connect three PCIe 6+2 pin power connectors from the power supply. Avoid using the same split PCIe cable, prefer separate cables.

Thanks again in advance.

For the sake of relevance, which HX1000i do you have? The one with the HX in blue or the one with the HX1000i in white over a black background? How old is the unit in question and what did it power throughout it's tenure?

That's a decade old unit.

^ the only difference is the 24pin connector pinout;

you should still be able to use this harness;

or this;

in tandem with your PCIe connectors on the PSU's end.

Just an FYI, your card should come with a harness/adapter to adapt your existing PCIe harness into 12v-2x6.

It is the blue one. 2080 Ti before this. I think I got it around 2018.
I was looking after the cable options from Corsair, all the current cables are type 3 and I'm just not sure if I can just plug them into the adapter that will come with the card. Thanks for your quick response.
