Is The CX750M Good Enough?

Hey, Im building my first PC and am receiving the parts one by one as I type, but I have just received my psu which is a CX750M which I thought was a high end psu but it turns out it isn't, I'm wondering if i'll have to return it I will be running this with a gtx 1070 and a i7 6700k which I plan on overclocking. Do you think the psu will be able to run the pc or will I have to get a new one?

Sorry to hijack this post, But I have the Old model CX750m, I have had it for 3 years now and I havent ran into a single issue. My system is a FX 8350 and a AMD 7950. I am looking to upgrade to a GTX 1060. Should I change power supplies too? Im pretty sure the tdp of the 1060 is lower or around the same as the 7950

I know barely anything about power supplies 😛

From my experience, I was able to get ~3.5 good years out of a Corsair CX600M, but am currently starting to run into issues. This is with a much older CPU, so I would definitely not recommend it for the Haswell/Skylake+ generation.

Likewise, I feel as though my max overclocks suffered by a PSU bottleneck.

If you're still in the window for being able to return it, I certainly would if I were you.

A Corsair RMx (emphasis on the "x", RM is a different, less reliable series) will be much more reliable for your build and waste less electricity/have more reliable overclocks.

If you're able to return this existing CM750W, you would have to pay very little extra if at all for this much better PSU. I just ordered the RMX two days ago and am looking forward to the upgrade.

Don't forget the RMi series (emphasis on the i) They seem to rate even higher than RMX series on the PSU Tier List.
