Is the Deepcool DE500 a decent power supply compared to generic ones

So I'm planning to upgrade my pc within 5,100 pesos ($102) this summer. Currently I have a generic 700w power supply and casing. I found this PSU which is 1,150 pesos ($23) and an i3 2120 and mobo bundle for 3100 pesos ($62) and a cheap aftermarket cooler for 850 pesos ($17).

Is this a good upgrade. I was hoping to get myself an i7 2600 then my budget lowered and I hoped to get an i5 3570 then I just lowered it to an i3 2120 to replace my generic powersupply.

Is this PSU any better or worse than the Aerocool VX 500 or Corsair VS 450. I could stretch my budget to a DE600.

Solution
The Deepcool DE500 is only a 350 Watt PSU.

I wouldn't trust any company that sells their power supplies based on its peak power rating.

The DE600 would only be a 450 Watt PSU.

Hi there,
Is there any specific website that you can buy off that we could get a link to? Are there any other options around that price point, and is there any way you could get some more money. Ultimately, deepcool DE500, provided it is somewhat similar to the DA500 (and I am far from sure of that), will be a better power supply than something completely generic. If you can spend a little more the corsair VS series, while far from perfect, will do a decent job.

I was supposed to go to a summer job but I got hitted by chickenpox on the day of my supposedly interview. I've also got this problem with my motherboard that it seems to act crazy so I planned to upgrade my motherboard and cpu too. I was only going to power the said i3 2120 (and then going to upgrade to an ivy bridge i5 or i7 in the future) and a RX 550 that I'm planning to upgrade to a more powerful videocard when I got the summerjob that I was planning again next year.

I would only power the following:

i3-2120 (going to upgrade to i5 or i7 ivy bridge later on)
RX 550 (going to upgrade to something like a 1050ti)
8gb of ram

Would the DE500 be sufficient for this specs?

Yes. It's more than enough to power a system with the specs you've listed.

It is, however Deepcool PSUs are far from quality. They often use thin gauge wire, low quality chinese capacitors, and outdated designs. If you can spend just a little more, you can get something far more reliable, such as this:
https://www.easypc.com.ph/corsair-vs450-apfc-power-supply-450watts.html
You could save by getting a cheaper pentium, or a first generation processor (or try to get a cheaper cooler). The VS450 will be more reliable and efficient than the DE500.

I've never said that Deepcool PSUs are high quality.

That Corsair VS450 CP-9020049-NA, in your link, is a discontinued model from two versions back. Its bulk primary capacitor is made by AiSHi based in China. Its secondary capacitors are made by CapXon based in Taiwan.

The VS450 and DE500 are both based on a CWT platform (i.e. it wouldn't surprise me if they were both based on the CWT GPM Series platform). The light gauge wiring used on the DE500 is no worse than what is used for the OEM PSUs used in pre-built systems like Acer, Dell, HP, etc.

Where's your proof that the VS450 is more reliable and efficient than the DE500? Both models only had an original 3 year warranty and the same 100,000-hour MTBF and both models don't have any 80 PLUS efficiency certification.

Sorry - didn't realize it was the old model of the VS series! In that case the only PSU I can truly recommend is the s12II-520, however, as that is very expensive, the de500 is probably the OPs only option.

Is that generation 1 or generation 2?
