Is the GTX 690 still good?

My Current Card is a 7970 i am looking for an upgrade preferably nvidia. Is a GTX 690 still viable, like is it a lot better, will i notice and big increase in performance and will it last for at least another 1-2 years. to give you an idea of what i am dealing with this is my setup:

i5 4690k Devils Canyon 4.3ghz
Corsair H55 water cooling
Gigabyte Z97X-SLI
AMD 7970 OC 3GB
Corsair CX750M
2x4GB=8gb Ram
Crucial M500 SSD 256GB
500GB western digital

A second 7970 in crossfire will give you equal or greater performance to a 690, which is SLI on one card.

I know this is a really old thread, but if you still havent decided, keep your 7970 as it is still a beast of a card. Hold out for nvidias new pascal cards in 2016. That will be a good upgrade even if you get a mid range pascal card such as the GTX 1050TI/1060. (or whatever they are named wen they come out).
