Is the i3 8350k worth it for $169.99, is it basically a i5 7600k/ i5 6600k which has similar gaming performance to a i7 7700k, and does i3 8350k have similar gaming performance to i7 7700k?

Is not the i5-8400 only about $15 more than the 8350K? (Can't even understand the release of the 8350K,... much less anyone buying one...)

in fact, I picked up a I5-9400F for that same additional $15. I didn't even consider the i3-8350k...

R5 1600 for $80 or rather essentially $50 with that $30 mobo discount. There is nothing than can beat this one for bang for the buck, and at $50 it would probably not be beat for a good long while.
