is the i5-3570 a good budget CPU?

if so how many years can this PC survive.

CPU: Intel core i5-3570

GPU: GTX 1650

RAM: 8GB DDR3

PC Model: Dell optiplex 3010

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Depends on the games you play. My old PC, which is my daughter's 'new PC' is:

i5-3570k
GPU: GTX 1660 Super
16 Gb (2x8) DDR3
Windows 10
PSU: Seasonic PRIME Ultra 550 Gold

A good PSU is a must have.

She does some gaming and it works fine.

When it was my PC, I was using an R9 290 GPU and playing BF5 without issues on high settings @1080p.

How many years should this machine last?

The Dells do last a long time from a hardware perspective. I still have some Dells that are 20 years old that are still running.

But being able to run what you want in the next few years--that's probably not going to happen without an upgrade to a 3770, more ram, and a faster gpu. And even that probably won't be enough.

Game-wise, you're looking at maybe a year to 18 months. Games are only going to get more CPU and GPU intensive, and a 2 core, 4 thread CPU is pretty bottom of the barrel, not to mention only 8gb of memory. If you could do it, wait for the new 4 core/8 thread "budget" offerings from AMD such as the 3100 or the 3300X. You could probably get one of those, plus motherboard, and memory for about $250-$275'ish. That would destroy what you've currently got, and it would be good for gaming for at least a few years.
