Okay so im gonna rebuild my system and order a new pentium 4 processor. I've heard talk about the B0 stepping having problems with data prefetch and actually making it a little slower. So i call Googlegear and ask for them to check the sSpec number and he calls me back and tells me SL6EV. This isnt in their database and he told me that this product isnt released yet. So is this a c1 stepping or possibly something better? thanks for anyone who may check or know any info on this

ok, well ernest just got back to me on it everyhting sounds like advertised. He said the packing date was the 17th of october so im hoping its a c1 stepping or hell something better even.. guess I'll order it and let ya know what i find out

There is no mention of a SL6EV on Intel's website. Not for any stepping of the P4.

There are 2 listed steppings which are C1:
SL6EG
SL6DW

Looking at the database, it seems that all the SL6E whatevers are C1.

Thats the same thing I noticed. It seemed to me like the B0 steppings had all numbers in the sSpec field and C1 had letters so I'm hoping this is just a new sSpec number with the c1 stepping. I guess by early next week I should know as I just placed the order. Wish me luck

when all the stuff comes in hopefully ill let ya know.. too many bills right now to get the new mb and ram.. but its a work in progress
