It's..........ok.
It's not a gaming chip. It's a quad core @ 3.0GHz turbo'ing to 3.5GHz.
It's a little slower than a newer i5 in gaming, and a more expensive socket (generally).
While it would work, I don't recommend it.
If you already had it for workstation purposes & wanted to run some games, it would be fine. But if you don't, I see no reason for it in a gaming environment.
I can't find a listing for much less than $200. And i5-6500 is similar in cost, and a better option (for gaming) all round.
