I've spent a while looking at benchmarks and reviews, and the XFX R9 380 looks like a solid card for me. I would like to ask you guys to spot any problems the card may have with my build.

CPU: i5 3570k @3.4GHz
PSU: Corsair CX500 (Bronze)
RAM: Ballistix Sport 2 X 4GB DDR3
HDD: 7200RPM 1TB Seagate
Monitor: 1600x900 BenQ 21.5" Monitor

Any problems, please tell me!
I'm willing to upgrade most components.

The CX500 most likely won't be able to power the R9 380. For the current res you are playing at, i would suggest you a ASUS STRIX 960, it draws far less power than 380 (relatively) and only requires a 6 pin connector. If you buy the 380, you would have to upgrade the PSU as well

So if I was to buy the 380, my PSU and display would need upgraded too?
Any recommendations for the two?

Not the display, only the power supply, but the Strix 960 is a far better option here

No you have no reason to upgrade the display if you're happy with that resolution for gaming.
Both the 960 & 380 will push between high & ultra settings at that res.

The cx500 does have the output capable of powering a 380 IMO , I agree the 960 is a better choice for you though.

For what reason(s) is the 960 better?

[strike]It's £40/$60 more expensive,[/strike] and performs near enough the same (according to some youtube reviews)

EDIT: Cheched amazon, the price difference isn't too much worse.

it isnt better in performance - although at your resolution the performance difference is negligible
its better in efficiency - the cx500 isnt a great psu - although imo nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe - itll power a 380 with no problems at all but youll be pushing 80%+usage with it wheras itll run a 960 absolutely stress free.

Youre UK?? where are you getting a 40 quid difference exactly ,more like 20 quid where im looking.

EDIT - you edited while I was replying ;-)

160 for a 4gb 960 - cant go wrong with that imo.
