[SOLVED] Is the z170x Gaming 3 motherboard compatible with Intel® Core™ i7-6850K?

Hello. I built my PC with the help of a friend back in 2015-- since then I've switched GPUs earlier this year, in order to play VR (from a GTX 960 to a GTX 1660).

I recently acquired the CPU listed in the title and I was wondering if it is compatible with my motherboard. According to what I've read, the sockets are different and thus they are incompatible. Is there any way to circumvent this? Or is there no way to make this CPU work in my PC?

If the sockets are different, the CPU is not going to work. There's nothing you can do besides changing the CPU or the motherboard.

Nope, the 6850k uses a 2011 socket and your motherbd has an 1151 socket.
