The title says it all! :) I'm trying to find something around a 27" that has the 1900x1200 native without shelling out almost $1500 for the NEC. Is there anything affordable out there? Thanks in advance!

1920x1200 is more common on 24 inch monitors than on 27 inch or higher, but I saw the following 27 to 28 inch monitors on Google Shopping:
HANNS.G HZ281HPB from $275
HANNS.G HH281HPB from $338
HANNS.G HG281DPB from $460
ViewSonic VX2835wm from $709
Samsung 275T from $909

Thanks Mauve! I have been looking at the reviews for the Hanns-G HZ281HPB and Hanns-G HH281HPB. The only worry I have is that there seems to be an inordinate RMA rate for Hanns-G stuff. The buyers tend to complain a lot about dead pixels, colored lines, and even big POOFs that fry the monitor. The HH also seems to be discontinued in my neck of the woods (Canada). Is my wariness of the Hanns-G monitors justified or should I take the plunge?

Dang it... I wish I could have more confidence in the brand, but I don't want to take the chance. RMAs from the middle of the wilderness where I live can take eons. I can't find a VX2835wm anywhere in this country, and I've been looking for almost an hour. GAWD I HATE having to go to 1920 x 1080 on a screen that big. I like squarish screens not panorama ones. What if I wanted to head down to 25 or 26... anything larger than a 24 might work for me. Any suggestions? :(

In that case, what about these:
Asus VW266H $299
Asus VK266H $365
LG W2600V-PF $380
ViewSonic VA2626wm $417
NEC MultiSync EA261WM-BK $472

As far as a $1500 27 inch NEC, I presume you're referring to the PA271W-BK, which has 2560x1440 resolution, rather than 1920x1200. If you're concerned about the aspect ratio, you might be able to find a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor like a Samsung 305T or LG L3000H for less than the 27 inch NEC, especially if you're willing to buy refurbished.

Mauve, believe it or not out of the:

Asus VW266H $299
Asus VK266H $365
LG W2600V-PF $380
ViewSonic VA2626wm $417
NEC MultiSync EA261WM-BK $472

The only one that's available here is the NEC and it's $550 Canadian (and our buck is worth more than yours now). That's just gone too far up in price for my budget unfortunately.

cloudy2010: thanks for the link, but for the work I do I need more real estate than a 24".

Edited later to add this:

What do you think of the AOC 2770Vh1?

If It have to go with a 1920x1080, at least I want to buy it for pocket money! :)

Barring that, here is the Samsung P2770HD

http://www.btecanada.com/products/index.php/default/catalog/product/view/id/6754

Or the ubiquitous Asus VE276Q and ASUS VE278Q

http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=16950MN5278&vpn=VE278Q&manufacture=OTHERS

Or last but not least the Philips 273E3SB

These are all under $300 Canuck bucks. Which one would be the best quality and best buy?
