Is there a bottleneck for the GTX 980 TI

I am going to buy a new system and want to know if there is something to improve to be able to use the full power the GTX 980 TI. Its a gaming only pc for 1920x1080 resolution:

Intel Core I5-6600K Bx
ASUS Maximus VIII RANGER
16GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4-2400
MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G

there is no bottleneck there and the 980ti is way, way overkill for a single 1920x1080 screen

It's like buying a Lamborghini and never taking it above 65 mph

Well yeah. 😛 unless something has a heavy CPU bottleneck, which I doubt. You say use its "full power" but you do not describe in what context. Browsing the web, no it won't be using its full power.

In 2-3 years it might not be a waste when games are even more intense.

But the lack of asynchronous shaders is more likely to be an issue at that time.
