Is there a difference between a cat6a keystone rated for 10gbit and cat7 keystone rated 10gbit?

Is there a difference between a cat6a keystone rated for 10gbit and cat7 keystone rated 10gbit. the only difference i can find is that cat7 keystones are shielded.

Im doing this for a customer who has all of the hardware for 10gbit but i've never used cat7 and theres not a lot of info on the web.

That is the main difference the cat7 ones have shielding. Generally cat6a is good enough for the vast majority of installation. When you are in a environment with a great deal of interference you can use cat7 cable. I have never seen a need if we even think there is any issue of interference we use fiber instead. This is tough to say, I suspect it may be like shielded cat5e cable where it is extremely rare to need the cable.

thanks for information. If i had it my way i would of put fiber in but they already bought all of the 10gbit hardware so we are left with cat7.
