I'm slightly confused. I thought all ATX for factors were the same. Can anyone help? Thanks!

So can a Extended ATX MOBO fit in an ATX, or can ATX fit in a mid ATX?

Solution
Within the ATX specifications, there are a few sub form factors - the motherboard standoff mounts are near alike but in some cases (micro ATX vs ATX), slightly different. A full tower case will (usually) support all ATX form factors up to and including Extended-ATX but might look a little silly with a mini-ITX board inside. A mid Tower will usually support up to ATX sized motherboards only. This chart (half way down, titled "Graphical comparison of physical sizes") shows the various sizes of ATX form factors

Generally a Extended ATX board will not fit in a mid tower case you would need a full tower. For instance my In Win Dragon Rider will support a micro ATX all the way up to a Extended ATX. As C12Friedman said while it will support a micro ATX the case is so big it would look quite odd have a motherboard that small in it. Any mid tower will support a standard ATX motherboard.
