Is there a difference in sound quality from headphones being plugged into monitor instead of PC front jack?

Sorry for the long ass title - Anyway is there a difference in sound quality if I plug my headphones [ Audio Technica ATH-M50's ] into my monitor [ BenQ GL2450HM ] instead of the front audio jack on the PC tower?

Im asking because the wire from the headphones hangs when plugged into the PC and is uncomfortable while the monitor is fine.

If you're wondering my PC's sound card is Realtek from a GigaByte Z97P - D3 motherboard.

why not just plug them in to the monitor and compare what it sounds like?

Well I don't have amazing hearing and i have my volume set at about 50% - the only difference I could tell was that it was quieter which isnt a very big problem.

I just don't want to waste the capability of my headphones

lol if you dont have amazing hearing and couldnt tell the difference then you cant waste the capability of the headphones

since by your own statement if it was better you wouldnt be able to tell any way
