Hey there!

I'm thinking about picking up new ram kits and the 6000 CL36 would be for a pretty decent price, however, I'm not quite sure whether the performance loss over the timings is negligible or not?
I'd be gaming at 1080p.

Could someone elaborate how much performance I'd lose approximately?

Thanks in advance!

It's been seen in the past, with prior DDR ram kits, that higher frequency and higher latency/timings are roughly equal to lower frequency tight timings. You get to pack a good punch if you go for higher frequency kits with tight timings, it's also why the latter tends to commend a higher price tag over the former. When you look at the price to performance ratio, the average user opts for a lower priced kit since a few frames isn't worth, maybe 100USD.

That being said, what ram kit are you looking at? Just be warned that you might need to look into the motherboard's memory QVL in order to get the advertised ram frequency.

I did, sir.
Would be either the KF560C32RSAK2-32 or the F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5RK
Both seem to be fully supported by either the Z790-P and the Z790-A WiFI that we talked about in my other thread.
