Okay Hardwarers, I was wondering if there was such a thing as a PCI-e Hub of sorts, which could split a 16x PCI-e lane into 4 4x PCI-e connectors. This would be extremely useful for us cryptocurrency miners.
Since the answer is probably no (or else I think I would have stumbled upon one before) could it be possible? Obviously the bandwith of a 16x lane could provide bandwith for 4 4x lanes but are the PCI-e lanes controlled by hardware or software? If there was a library that could control and monitor the pins it would be possible to program a driver for such a cable someone were to make one.
I know this is all very far-fetched but I was wondering if you think it would be possible.
