[SOLVED] Is there a program that will automatically connect you wifi at boot?

I erased everything on my windows 10 PC, which meant I lost all the settings I had made on my profile


On that build, I remember making changes to my settings to make sure that my WiFi automatically booted up when I started my PC. I have since forgotten what setting that was, so, on this new build, I am not able to make the same changes to my settings, which means my WiFi doesnt connect automatically at the start

I have already made "changes" to my WiFi connect; like, ticking the box that forces my PC to connect to the WiFi even if it is out of range, as well as changing the power settings for my WiFi adapter

Is there a program that will force my PC to connect to my WiFi automatically? I dont know what else to do.

Its so annoying because I have to disconnect my ATP storage/device every time, which takes 5 seconds, and then add it again to my PC. Before, I didnt have to do that as my WiFi was always connected

Things about my PC:

• Windows 10
• My other devices have no problems connecting to the WiFi automatically
• My PC is also connected to an ethernet connectionn (I have no problems connecting to this)

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Look in BIOS to ensure, as applicable, that wireless is enabled.

Ensure that only one network adapter (either wired or wireless) is enabled. One or the other - not both at the same time.

So if the requirement is wireless network connectivity then disable the wired network adapter.

Reconfigure the wireless network adapter as necessary for your wireless network.

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quote) via the Command Prompt. Post the results.

im looking to have both wired and wireless at the same time - do you think that might be the issue?

Yes - that may well be the issue.

Two adapters can be used for "bridging".

Why do you want/need to have both adapters enabled?

What is the purpose or the end requirement?

I have a USB drive stuck/plugged in to my WiFi router. This USB drive has movies, which I want to access through my PC to add movies or watch the movies.

As far as I know, there is no way to access the USB drive through ethernet connection, even though my ethernet cable is connected to the same router - (maybe im wrong about this)

So I need to have WiFi connected at all times. The problem is, when my PC boots up, its not always connected to the WiFi, which means I have to disconnect the network drive (the usb drive), and set it up again. this takes like a minute to do but very tedious task when you shutdown your computer 1-3 times a day. i just want to click on my network drive like before and automatically access it if possible

im VERY surprised that there aren't any apps/programs that can help with this.

Something is wrong in your router's configuration if it only works over wifi. It should work over wired (and work even better).

What brand and model router do you have?

can you tell me how to do that? or point me to resources that could help me achieve that? ive never explored that

my router is huwei. and yes, i know that's not a good brand, but that's what my isp provided with my internet package. i should have replaced it but i am broke.

The USB drive and its' files should be readily accessible via the router.

You can easily find similar links by googling "huwei router usb drive" or other variations as applicable.

If configured correctly the USB drive should appear and be accessible as any other shared network drive whether you are using wired or wireless connectivity.

Just for record: If I plug in a USB drive into my Linksys router network performance slows....
