It's pretty well known that the memory in the M1/M2 cpu family are part of the CPU package. However, it's my understanding that it's a separate chip within the same package, which means that there need to be many communication lines connected between them. The M2 uses DDR5 memory. Is there something about the way the CPU accesses memory that would have prevented the memory from being installed in DIMM slots rather than in an adjacent chip within the same carrier?
