No, You are missing the fact that Windows always reserves some of your RAM for it's own use and there is no way to get it back AFAIK.Went into the bios and disabled the iGPU. RAM went from 31.1 to 31.7GB total. Any way to completely get 32GB. Maybe I'm just being too picky. What am I missing?
Mobo: Giagabyte Gaming X AX AB650 rev1.3
The motherboard and rest of the system still needs a little bit.Went into the bios and disabled the iGPU. RAM went from 31.1 to 31.7GB total. Any way to completely get 32GB.
But why?The motherboard and rest of the system still needs a little bit.
What you are seeing is it. You cannot see "32GB".
Because the rest of the system (motherboard, etc) needs some memory to run on.But why?
I also wonder why in task manager when I look at the GPU tab it lists that I have 31GB of available VRAM even though the 6800 only has 16GB, I know that it is shared system memory, but why? I don't necessarily want system RAM to be VRAM because at 1080p the likelihood of using more than 16GB of VRAM is low.Because the rest of the system (motherboard, etc) needs some memory to run on.
I think thats just a weirdness in Task Manager.I also wonder why in task manager when I look at the GPU tab it lists that I have 31GB of available VRAM even though the 6800 only has 16GB, I know that it is shared system memory, but why? I don't necessarily want system RAM to be VRAM because at 1080p the likelihood of using more than 16GB of VRAM is low.
Is it an OS thing? Win10 displayed 16GB fine on my old rig.Because the rest of the system (motherboard, etc) needs some memory to run on.
The user facing difference between a displayed 31.9 and 32 is invisible.
Might be OS, might just be a rounding error. Is it an OS thing? Win10 displayed 16GB fine on my old rig.
